Fourth of July DiD Peril Sketch; Pencil & Paper:

Somewhere in the United States. at night on July 4th...

Peach, learning about the USA holiday, while visiting Mario & Luigi in Brooklyn, NY, has been captured! Her captor puts her on a display platform in a park and tied her wrists together with her arms over her head. The, he sets a timer on what look like explosives by her feet, and leaves.

Peach struggles against the securely tied ropes, thinking that every beep from the timer is one second closer to doom! But she is unaware that the "explosives" at her feet serve a completely different purpose...

A while back Shax showed me an idea he was working on where Peach found herself in apparent peril, but she didn't know that the peril would turn out to be a lot less harmful than it looks. Borrowing on that idea (and I hope you finish that one soon Shax as it is AWESOME), I adapted it to celebrate our Independence. HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY EVERYONE!!!

Concept notes:

Peach: This is the first DiD I have ever attempted not only using the wireframe technique of figure drawing, but also where I had absolutely no reference at all. I guess this is what original art feels like. I had wanted to do Peach tied arms overhead for a while, since it had been a long time since my last one with that position. I may go for more of it in the future as there is something about a DiD tied in this position that is very helpless! I was hoping to go with the first try at this, but that one bombed even though it looked "ok", so I tried again and here is the result. I had this one almost done for awhile, but I needed a reason for Peach to be tied like that as well as her expression towards the viewer, and Independence Day seemed appropriate.

Scene: I rushed most of this, since I am still in the midst of moving, but a few goodies out there for those of you that like my twisted sense of humor.

Everybody have a good time tonight but be careful when dealing with pyrotechnics!

*Raises hand* If I don't save her, will it be considered a federal offence?

Now there is a fireworks display. Well done.

Lead us not into temptation... Just point us in the general direction and we'll find it ourselves.

*passionate sigh* What a combo - lovely damsel, beautiful gown, that pose which I'm really starting to fall for also <3 <3 <3

The details really bring this pic to life, the pointy hand and Uncle Sam's WTF expression especially. In all honesty, the floorboards and perspective don't seem to QUITE match up, but let's face it - who cares? XD

Any fool can do it.

Awesome. Considering adding a gag and coloring it? ^_^

"Prepare to die, Earth scum. Prepare to die, Earth scum." I'm gonna make sure they carve that on your tombstone!
:iconestoke61:
Actually it will probably stay as is. This one is more of a special day sketch now. Besides, I really like the way Peach's "oh my god!" facial expression came out, sans a cleavegag. If she was gagged, I likely would have made this more of a struggle pic.

Thanks for the comment!

Very nice picture, I would prefer to see it colored and her gagged, but its your work so I won't bug yah to do it, but if you ever consider it I will gladly look forward to it :)

Like always keep up the good work I wish I could draw like you I am jealous of your skills :P

If you want to be jealous, then be jealous of practice and experience. I don't really have any natural talent for art. In fact, simple things that I do all the time in my work end up being 2nd or 3rd tries most of the time.

But I am learning more and more and the more I do of it, the more I get used to it. Which means that if I can do it, ANYone can.

Thanks for the comment!
