Peach calendar special DiD multi-panel sketch; Papel, Pencil, & Photoshop color.

She's tied hand and foot. She's gagged. But Peach is trying to get loose! She struggles and wiggles her wrists and tries to kick with her feet. But it seems so hopeless, as usual. All of a sudden, she feels something loosen around her wrists. Is the knot getting weak??? It IS! She twists and turns, desperately trying to get out of the ropes. Finally, almost in a state of shock, she realizes her wrists are coming apart. The ropes start falling down to the couch. Now she brings her arms in front of her, and claws off the cleave gag. YES?!?!?!?!?!?

NO! APRIL FOOLS! What could be a heavenly dream now will become a harsh nightmare of reality when she wakes up. Poor Peach!

This was an idea planted over on the AVGDID board, about turning the tables for April Fools Day. I didn't quite do that, but since I had a multi panel idea for Peach, and I wanted her to get free, albeit temporarily anyway, I morphed the idea into this.

Now, quite a bit to say on this one:

First and foremost, a jillion thanks goes out to Ayvuir-Blue for ALL of his help in the coloring and some needed touch ups that made this one look even better. I could not be more grateful!

Panels: I wanted to show a few things: A good struggling pose, a close up, a picture of ropes starting to come undone, and Peach removing a gag. I was able to come through on all of these, but not quite as I originally planned. Perhaps better! As always with panel based art, I tried to keep Peach's look consistent, but I know I didn't quite succeed, but I think it is close enough.

Sleeping Pose: This one took me awhile. I first drew Peach's body too long, and then after some consideration, tried doing a "wire frame" body proportion rather than my usual outline. It worked for her anatomy and position -- SORTA. I know her legs shouldn't be stacked like they are, and I know I didn't show her "upper body" quite the way I wanted, but it still is effective enough to show sleep I think.

Color: I recently found out that I am attempting "Soft shading", and I think it looks pretty good. I was too lenient on the colors by playing it safe, but I did use the Dodge tool for the first time ever, as well has the smudge tool. I also relied on textures for the bedding, couch, and background canvas.

Other: I know some of you gag lovers out there won't be convinced in the slightest by the SINGLE piece of tape over Peach's mouth as she dozes, but remember, this is PEACH. I bet she could be restrained with a simple piece of rope, if necessary. Aside from her fighting roles, I believe she really is that helpless.
