Daisy decides she wants Peach out of the way for a while, and knows Peach's helplessness against rope, and decides to give her something to do, namely, struggle uselessly, while she decides to get away from Peach's consistently cheerful attitude...well, except when she's kidnapped and/or tied up. Where is Daisy going? You make the call.

I had a request from a special friend, and I gave them a choice out of my uncolored Peach sketches, and after narrowing it down, I decided to tackle this one, one of my earliest on dA. It was definitely a challenge, as I will explain below:

Princess Peach: I find it hard to believe that any of my early Peach works somehow looked like Peach to me at the time. I started by redoing her lips, eyes, head shape, crow, and hair. Once she started looking more like she should, I did some minor alterations such as adding visibility to her other leg, and then modifying her dress and prepared it for coloring. All in all it doesn't too much different, until you compare it to the original sketch.

Princess Daisy: I actually didn't have to change much on her, as I did a much better job portraying her than Peach the first time around...ironic, huh? Her calves were too thin, so I fixed that, and then I redrew her dress in a few places to be more inline with her established pre-Brawl (e.g. pre-obssessive compulsive) look. I couldn't find any actually official art showing her pumps, so I assumed they were a darker version of her second color. I also used a touch of highlight to her hair. I also re-did her crown and smoothed the edges of her gloves and sleeves, which should match her earrings and (not-shown) frontal jewel [and yes, Daisy retains her jewel on her breast in my art world -- only Peach is submissive enough to have a ring collar in lieu of her jewel]

The Scene: THIS is where I needed to spend all of my time. So the original angle of the floor tiles and the wall bottom trim were ALL wrong perspectively. So was the window. I fixed all that, and I know the window is a little too low, but maybe in this mushroom kingdom house they are lower for the Toads or something. I re-did the outside shot and colored with official colors from Super Mario Brothers for a cool retro look, and also felt I needed to add something on the left, so I through in a quickee cabinet in the wall. I relied heavily on pattern stamping overall, but I am particularly proud of how I stumbled upon how to make the marble floor tiles look realistic...I am very happy with that. Also as a general note Daisy and Peach's eyes now meet in this one as opposed to the original where Peach is looking back at her hogtie, and Daisy seemed to concentrate on tying it tight. Now, it somehow seems more distressful for Peach with them looking at each other, Peach being surprised and shocked, and Daisy insistent and POed. And also I must point out that this is the first coloring I have done where I went over the ENTIRE sketch with the airbrush, and so I am curious as to how you all feel about the result. I probably should have used the Pen tool, but I don't know how to use that yet.

As a side note, you might wonder why Peach doesn't look uncomfortable having her wrists and ankles drawn up in such a tight hogtie, especially with Daisy tightening the knot, but I guess you can chalk it up to that fact that Peach is so used to getting tied like that, that she has learned how to twist herself so that it doesn't hurt hardly at all, much like NOMAD's Black Delmos and their acceptance of failure and bondage.

I am pretty happy about this one, despite how I had to re-do most of the original sketch to pull it off. And I hope the requester likes it to. Leave me some comments!!!
