Bonkers, using the tracking device on Miranda's patrol car, tracks her location to the high rise, and after reaching the 96th floor, finds her tied to a chair in a corner office with a bomb on the floor. "I'll SAVE YOU, MIRANDA!" he exclaims, raising his finger to the sky. He spots a pair of scissors on a nearby desk, but he figures it would be much easier just to shut off the bomb. He picks the lock and opens the lid and POW!!!!!!!!!!
Miranda mmph'd in frustration! "The bomb had a safeguard mechanism, and Bonkers looks like he's out like a light!" she thought. Miranda struggled frantically against the tight ropes. Reaching the scissors would be almost impossible tied like she was, and time's running out. "Please Bonkers, Wake Up!" she pleaded in her thoughts as her fingers searched uselessly for the out of reach knots...
This is a bit of a step outside of my normal boundaries. I didn't really ever plan on using Disney characters, and I certainly have made it clear that I won't draw furries, but I had to let some of my rules slide for this one, because the idea I had seemed too good to pass up, and I couldn't really match any other characters in the scenario. Still, for the very few out there that enjoyed "Bonkers", or the even fewer that were fans of supercute cop Miranda, this one is for you!
From the desk of JC:
Officer Bonkers D. Bobcat: Let's face it, I am no cartoonist. However, references can make up for that. My initial rough sketch of this scene with me trying to quick-sketch Bonkers from long ago memories, before looking him up on the 'net, was so laughable it wasn't funny. But I chose one of his funnier wacky expressions and went with that. Drawing him was almost like drawing SD Chibi Anime, and so I concentrated on a biggish head on a small body. I used some ill advised speed lines to try and show him getting knocked back from the blow.
Sergeant Miranda Wright: This LAPD officer of the law is one of the cutest cop gals in Animation. Of course "You're Under Arrest" and similar shows also provide good cop DiDs, but Miranda just had a great look. I concentrated most of my skill work on her, keeping in mind that she has a very slim figure, but looks about as normal as any human could in the tv show. She has an interesting hair design on her sides, and fairly tight slacks. I know others here on dA have drawn her much better than this, but it was the best I could do.
Scene: Ok, all of you who praise me on my background, well, I completely let you all down. I just hacked my way through a background on this one, using almost 100% window space, although it did allow me to try and emulate the ridiculously contoured high rise buildings seen on the show. In terms of the rest, I made the springs of the boxing glove purposely different proportions, trying to keep with the cartoon slapstick theme, and also threw in a little humor here and there.
I have no idea what you all will think of this one, so let me know with some comments!
